BlackBerry Key2
The latest evolution of the smartphone with smart, physical keyboard.
China based, TCL Corporation came to Studio Alison Phillips as a Special Advisor to consult on the design of this next generation flagship device as part of it’s hardware license agreement with BlackBerry.
Working directly with the executive team, the Studio provided detailed direction on a sleeker, more modern and space efficient Industrial Design language and updated CMF (colour, material, finish).
The device boasts an improved keyboard with larger keys, better tactility and larger battery, without growing the device.
This was achieved through an efficient industrial design language. The key mat eliminates frets to give a more modern aesthetic.
“This keyboard-packing smartphone is the best kind of throwback.” Wired
“I've already gone off about how handsome I think the BlackBerry KEY2 is -- it's sleeker and more angular than last year's KEYone, and it comes off as more premium and professional as a result.” Engadget
